That "strategic alliance" between the PGA Tour and LPGA Tour...I can't figure out what benefit the PGA Tour could get out of this, aside from good P.R. ... it was Finchem's version of "Communism with a human face" ... until Monahan rolls in the tanks in 2022 and relegates the LPGA to Golf Channel's early AM time slots between the Tour Strike Wedge and GX-7 Metal commercials. I wonder if ESPN would take back the LPGA if offered to them?

Karen Crouse’s Twitter was pretty entertaining today. She had some discussion with her followers about why the LPGA isn’t more popular with men’s golf fans or better covered by the Men’s Golf Channel and other men’s golf beat reporters in the Men’s Golf Industrial Complex.
She’s great. My man Boone got in there to mention that Brooke is a North American, close enough!
Golf social media is a small world. When heavy hitters have a reasonable discussion online everybody sees it and it’s beneficial, even if the medium doesn’t allow people to perfectly represent their ideas or tone.

On the MGC this morning Morning Drive has declared Fassi the next North American LPGA star. She hasn’t won yet but she’s the reigning “Cam Champ”.
Lee6, Jin Young Ko, and Hanna Green - SOL.

I guess Anne van Trunkslam is no longer the flavor of the month.
I wonder what long hitter the GIC will anoint the next "Superstar of the LPGA."

The GIC has moved on to Fassi.
Next thing you know, GC will be showing every Fassi shot and long-winded discussion with her caddy.
It's enough to make a gal announce that she's off social media again.

The GIC is doing Fassi no favors by putting her under a microscope before she's done anything. Knowing the NY Times, the AP, all the golf rags and the friggin' PGA of America are analyzing her every swing would be enough to unnerve the most experienced golfers, let alone a 23yo newbie.
Maybe Anne van Sham Dam can settle down and get to work now that the glare of the hot lights is off her.

The GIC has moved on to Fassi. Next thing you know, GC will be showing every Fassi shot and long-winded discussion with her caddy. It's enough to make a gal announce that she's off social media again. For men's golf writers (which is most of the golf media), they only become interested in women golfers if they somehow can relate them back to the male golfers (the ones they really care about). Wie became their darling the second she showed up at a PGA driving range in Hawaii and Ernie Els gushed about her. Obviously she was the greatest thing ever if she could even think about playing a men's event. No more proof was ever needed again. In 2002, Annika won I think 11 times and was barely noticed outside the LPGA. In 2003 she missed the cut at the PGA's Colonial and made it to the Tonight show. People forget that the ANNIKA we all know really started after that; before that, she was pretty much ignored by the mainstream sports media. Fassi has length plus the Augusta connection. These guys all genuflect at the altar of Augusta National. No more needs to be said. Obviously she is the next big superstar. Put her in all the marquee tee times! Get her on TV! All Six has going for her is dominating the Rookie race and winning the biggest event in women's golf. Where is the connection to the important golfers, the PGA? None, so they can't relate. (Six beat Fassi handily on Sunday at the KPMG and was shown once, while Fassi got at least four appearances).

I first saw Fassi on the range at Lancaster...with her name and certain colors on her bag, I didn't know if she was Italian or Mexican. It seems I was wrong on both counts...per Nichols, Sirak, Mell and the rest of the GIC, Fassi is a 'Murican. Whan's comments are usually slick and well-crafted, but he sure had an off-week at this event. WTH, he turns into Diana Murphy when he tries to pronounce Jin Young Ko?! Also, where's he getting 39 weeks from? Even the JLPGA doesn't play 39 weeks (yet). Plus, it's actually an insult to say it will take you 39 weeks to love your #1 player...it took me far less time to make up my mind: The New Ko is a ho-hum goody-two shoes...the one exception being her fascination with Cupcake, the dullest personality on the PGA Tour. After her broken English improves, it's possible she'll be a better interview than Minjee Lee one day (which isn't saying much). On the other hand, you don't need 39 minutes to be captivated by Lucky 6, who built up a golf resume from NOTHING.
I agree that Six has the potential to be a crowd favorite. She has a ton of spunk, and that always translates well. I noticed Tom mentioned that he encountered several fans asking where 'Six' was at KPMG. So the nickname and the hair have really helped her to stand out among the Koreans. Disagree about Jin Young. I get the feeling she has a playful quality about her that will start to come through more as she learns English better. The bit about Koepka was really funny, especially when she claimed she liked 'big guys'. I mean, what other Sister ever made a confession like that? I'm guessing we'll hear more "midnight confessions' from her as she learns the language better. I personally like Minjee, too, although I agree she is still awkward in interviews (getting better, though).
