According to this, Jin Young needs 39 weeks of network TV to even get anyone to pronounce her name. So Fassi and Lexi need to be "cultivated" to become the "needle-moving" World No.1. Hank Haney would enthusiastically agree. golfweek.com/2019/06/22/mike-whan-lpga-tv-contract/Whan points to current No. 1 Jin Young Ko as a prime example. “If you gave me 39 weekends a year, I promise you I could make you love Jin Young Ko,” said Whan. “You’re going to get to know her story and swing. You see her five times a year, she’s just a name I can’t pronounce." What Whan called “pretty significant changes” for LPGA television coverage has now become a 2022 prospect, which actually gives the LPGA a few more years to cultivate a new needle-moving star – Maria Fassi, perhaps – or for a current one – like Lexi Thompson – to move to No. 1.
Whan won’t rest until he gets it done.

Round 2 A tale of two sessions. In the morning, the Sisters produced some stellar golf. It was especially cool to see Jin Young bounce back from Thursday with the best round of the week so far, a 67. In Gee also carded a 70 and is in the top 20. I have no idea if she will be able to do anything else this week, but this was a promising day that included a driving average of nearly 260 yards. In Gee's has recovered her driving distance; she drove well the last round at Meijer and both rounds this week. Her first recorded drive today at par 5 #3 was 268 yards; longer than her playing partner Amy Yang's 254 yards.

Whan won’t rest until he gets it done.Oh for cripes sake, Whan, you can't pronounce Jin? Or Young? Or Ko? And since when does someone have to force people to love an attractive, bubbly woman with a killer golf swing? The fact is, the media have decided not to feature her, and focus on players who are 22 over par. Work on that, and the rest will, I guarantee, fall into place. It's incredibly frustrating that Fassi, who has done nothing in professional golf, is immediately given star treatment, put into great pairings, given TV coverage, mostly because of fricking Augusta. Kupcho, too. Meanwhile, I'm still waiting for the Golf Channel Rookie profile on Lucky Six, a genuine superstar in the making who already has a Major under her belt.

I guess when Whan called it a Global Tour, he had that idea in the back of his mind. No wonder he was quiet when Haney was dissing the tour. Instead of thirty nine weeks how about treating her with respect as number one now.

So Yeon played a little better today, but had a double bogey and just three birdies. Her driving distance was 244, I hope that it's just this one day.
Jin Young minus two is pretty good and she is moving up the leaderboard. I believe that Jeongeun Lee is just mentally tired. Hopefully, she would finish with one of her great final rounds.

The weather.com report for Chaska, MN says they'll have scattered or isolated T-storms all day tomorrow. Instead of sending everyone off in pairs from #1 like today, they're doing split tees with threesomes on Sunday.

The players need to figure it out themselves. Corporate marketing by the LPGA will always be too risk adverse and the tour dads won’t let their kids out of their sight to have fun and get a rally going.

Oh well, at least Jimin didn't detonate on Friday. She gets four days and a check and some publicity... overall good. ( love the socks )
So if they go early will we be able stream live? ( just kidding, partner NBC can barely give them three hours a day. )

With the last three ball going off at 12:35pmEDT they should be live within the TV window (3-6pmEDT) assuming no weather delay.Kevin

Round 3 There was a lot to love about day three for the Sisters. Inbee was on fire on the front nine. Alas, she cooled off on the back, but she's in good position nonetheless. Sei Young did her damage on the back nine, including a pitch in for eagle. IK Kim also had a nice pitch in. Eight Koreans are tied for 15th or better. And even So Yeon and In Gee, while not having great days, still did well. In Gee shot a 73, averaged 271 off the tee, and is one great round away from her first top ten of the year. So Yeon is not going to win, but is in the same boat as In Gee. I agree that Lucky Six is probably exhausted; she has gotten gradually worse the past four events. Hopefully she takes some serious time off after this to recharge. The problem, of course, is that Green continued to give herself birdie chance after birdie chance, and still leads. OK, fun time is over. Now things are going to get HARD. Especially on the back nine on Sunday, she is going to be tested like never before. I still have to believe she is going to buckle and open up an opportunity. Hopefully these great Koreans in the hunt will take advantage. And Ariya has been terrible all year; we still haven't seen her spray her shots like she usually does. She is about due a round like that. Sung Hyun is five back, and she loves being about that distance back starting on Sunday. Inbee is really due a great putting day. Sei Young is about three years overdue a Major win. Farther back, Jin Young is capable of going mega low and posting a score; she is just three shots out of third. GO SISTERS!!!! YOU CAN DO IT! HWAITING!

HappyFanIt'd make my week if In Gee closes out with an under par round today. I haven't read any reports, but clearly In Gee has gone through swing and fitness changes over the last nine months or so. Her driving distance dipped to 220 yards but now she can hit over 260 yards comfortably. The changes affect everything else; irons, chipping and most importantly putting. The worst is over; wonder what the future holds!

The livestream is still scheduled to start at the same time as the broadcast, which indicates that NBC will not be tape delayed.
But -- like yesterday -- you can count on NBC dumping out of the LPGA mid-swing at the end of their broadcast window. Unless Lexi is still in contention...gotta "cultivate" her to reach No. 1!
So DVRs should be set to start on GC at 6pm ET.

https://www.instagram.com/p/BzCGfn2H7c9 So Yeon getting in some post round practice. I hope that she doing the majority of her practice with her irons. She is still missing too many greens, had twenty eight putts. It's hard to score when you are not giving yourself birdie chances.

We're fortunate that KPMG is being covered by NBC Sports instead of Golf Channel; it takes priority over PGA Tour, Korn Ferry, PGA Champions or European Tour.
