Nomura is a WD with no replacement...harrumph, they should have had Muni standing by. Wiezy currently DFL at +12. Everyone that had her WDing before R2, please hold on to your betting slips until tee-off time tomorrow. How many Wie articles has Golf Channel had this week? When will they ever learn?

Given that NBC and PGA are supposed partners in this, i was surprised to see 7 hours of PGA on GC yesterday. And only 3 for KPMG?
Since it's a PGA event (supposedly), why not send the PGA live crew ONE TIME a year to KPMG?
Jimin Kang is a very interesting story, GC usually goes for those. Basically her career was derailed by disastrously terrible medical advice. I'd really love to see her contend and get a big check. If she does well on a big stage and GC publicized her story, maybe she could even get a couple sponsors exemptions.

Tron and Big Randy looking for warm-up advice on the range was pretty funny. Lindy Duncan describing her contraption was adorable.

Good first round for So Yeon, not so much for Jin Young Ko. But it's the first round no problem unless she does the same second round. Which I don't expect her to do.

Yes !!! GO JIMIN KANG !!!
I haven't actually followed a round online since The Queen retired. I was sweating that back nine. Jimin finishes her day T7.

Really surprised to see Greeny back up a great round with another one. She might come apart on the weekend, but she's making progress in her career.
Great job by Jimin so far, but let's face it, she sort of a ringer among the teaching pros. Yes, I've seen a pic of her LPGA instructor business card on IG, but where does she find time to give lessons this year? She's constantly entering Monday qualifiers and just played the USWO, Meijer & ShopRite. I assume a top-ten at KPMG gets her a free pass into P&G and who knows what else after that.
MHL during Wednesday practice...at +4, she is going to give me white knuckle syndrome tonight...although the cut just slipped down to +5.

I hope Spilkova had a good medical excuse for dropping out in front of her KPMG sponsor.
Really surprising that JEL 6, the ECP and the SS Feng are on the +5 cut line.

I know it's Friday, but holy crap, the place looks empty. Just before the ECP hit her approach at #18, you could see a grandstand to the right of the green and it was filled no more than 25%. I'm sure the absurdly expensive tickets are a major factor in this.
FIRE ALERT! Did you just see Karen Chung in that outfit as she almost holed out for a two at #18?
PHEW!!! MHL closed with five straight pars to make the cut.
Jaclyn Lee (79-77) ... this pro thing ain't workin' out so good, eh?

Tough day at the office for So Yeon Ryu and Jeongeun Lee6. Both were plus three, but Jeongeun birdie on seventeen. So Yeon birdie on eighteen kept them from going birdie less for the round.
A great comeback round for Jin Young Ko, minus five for the day. She is back in the hunt at even par.

Round 2 A tale of two sessions. In the morning, the Sisters produced some stellar golf. It was especially cool to see Jin Young bounce back from Thursday with the best round of the week so far, a 67. In Gee also carded a 70 and is in the top 20. I have no idea if she will be able to do anything else this week, but this was a promising day that included a driving average of nearly 260 yards. The afternoon, though. I think this course setup might just be the wrong side of unfair. Inbee was reduced to hitting woods on almost every hole. Somehow she hung in there and still has a chance. So Yeon -- wow, I think she's hanging out with Cristie Kerr too much. I've never seen her get so mad. On one hole she smashed her club into the ground, then tossed the ball into the water. I understand -- she seemed on an upward trend at last this season, and this round didn't help. But I hope she can regroup, there's still time for a decent result. I love Six and her fight. She was not getting multiple chip ins like Green (seriously -- two pitch ins so far! How much luck can one person have?). She struggled with her game and was on the edge of missing the cut all day. But she didn't give up, made a clutch par save and another birdie, and carved out a 75. Yucky, but she's playing tomorrow. I would love to see her stick it to this course tomorrow with a Lucky 66! The coverage was the pits. How much can they show Michelle Wie? She was 22 fricking over par! It's time for an intervention, there's something sick about relentlessly following a golfer who is so out of the tournament while ignoring contenders like Hyo Joo Kim. And how the heck does whatshername Fassi merit so much attention? Oh yeah, I know, Augusta, but come on, let her earn it. And I can't count the number of times we watched Lexi and Ariya, then cut away before Inbee hit. Yes, it was an ugly day for her, but she was still 100x better than Wie. At least they showed Six, or I would have been REALLY irate. For the moment, it looks like Namdalla and maybe Hyo Joo are the only Sisters with a chance (still can't believe Jimin will last). But Jin Young, In Gee, Inky, Inbee and Amy are lurking; if one or more of them have a great Moving Day, this event could get a whole lot more interesting. And I still think Green and Ariya, who's had a fairly poor season, are probably playing beyond their level for the moment, so even the players at 2 or 3 over could still have a shot. Go Sisters!!!

PS - is there ANYONE attending this tournament? I have yet to see more than a smattering of fans following any groups this week, and the stands are mostly empty. It felt like this event was getting a decent turnout the past few years; when I went at Sahalee the crowds were great. I sure hope the Minnesotans turn out on the weekend.

To show how inflated the scores became for the afternoon wave, I was monitoring the cut line. Jane Park was T71 at +4. I was imagining being her caddy and telling her to par out the last two holes to assure of making the cut. Turns out she bogeys and pars her 17th and 18th finishing at +5 and T91. She still makes the cut on the nose!
I'm not so sure Ariya will fade but I'm looking for Sung Hyun Psrk to defend. Hannah Green won't be part of the conversation by the end of Sunday.

I guess it's a good thing that I haven't watched any LPGA tournaments lately. Because I would hate to see So Yeon let her play get to her. Where she would act out of character by slamming her club and other things. I am sure she will think about it and never do it again' I know it's hard for her to watch other golfers chip in for birdies. Also every time their long birdie putt get near the hole, they go in. Where as So Yeon long birdie putts seem to just miss the hole. One thing that I know is that she will play hard until the last putt drop.
