Maybe she now thinks she was wrong. But I do know that when she was playing in a women's senior event about five years ago, she said something like "so many people come up to me and tell me I was right about my comments." She seemed pretty proud that she had 'gotten it right'. So maybe she's spinning it again, but I'm not entirely buying it.
I missed the Volpe era. You never really know anybody but I think if you watch enough golf you kind of get an idea what's under the hood.
The LPGA has a veteran's committee, and then can choose to put someone in the LPGA Hall of Fame even if they don't otherwise qualify. I think they wanted to do that with Laura Davies and she refused, saying she wanted to earn her way in (is she in by now or is she still refusing?).
Anyways, I'm glad that they weren't the ones who put in the Hall, that it was the World Golf Hall instead.
