Round 2
Not a very scintillating leaderboard this week alas. Hopefully the Sisters can pick it up a tad on the weekend.
Nice to see Jeongeun Lee 6 follow up her good first round with an equal second. She's just three back and has plenty of time to produce one of her great third rounds to get into position for a win. Sung Hyun was on fire today and is just four back.
On the downside, Youngin fought hard, but couldn't get the job done and missed another cut. In Gee did make the broadcast, but it was another blah day for her. I feel like she has it in her to produce at least one great round this week; let's see if she can do it tomorrow to make this one respectable.
Jin Young rallied on the back nine for a 68. She's six back, still an outside chance to make a go of it. With Minjee struggling, this would be a good chance to step up and pad her #1 ranking lead.
Jennifer still tied for the lead. If she can get herself into the final group on Sunday, I might start to believe, but she has a long way to go yet.
Sisters Hwaiting!!!

Youngin is really fighting to make the cut. Surged early to -2, double bogey to Even, back to -1, another double bogey to +1 and currently just over the cut. Good luck, kid! Keep Hwaiting! Unfortunely Youngin made three bogeys after the double to fall to +4. She made one more birdie to give her eleven birdies for the two days. Missing another cut, she might not get into many other tournaments after the reshuffle. Too bad because she belongs on the LPGA instead of the Symetra Tour. She will probably have more birdies than any other players for the two days. Not seeing her that much, I bet that she is an aggressive putter. Which sometimes leads to three putts, instead of birdies. She has talent for sure, but is really young and still needs a lot of seasoning. I have no idea what the key is. It seems like she makes a lot of stupid mistakes and costs herself needless bogies. But keep in mind that she wasn't even top ten on the Symetra last year. Even if she is the best quality Symetra player, she'll have trouble making cuts out here, and it's not clear she's reached even that level yet. But as I say, she's young, and at this point, any experience is good experience.

Ugh, this tournament has really gone south for the Sisters. Even Jin Young Ko and Jeongeun Lee are not doing well, and Sung Hyun Park followed a great round 2 with a rotten round 3. I'm not even going to watch the Saturday coverage (don't feel like 1.5 hours of Henderson) nor Sunday.
Tomorrow, I hope a couple of the Koreans shake the cobwebs out and shoot some good scores to prep for the big one next week. Let's get a few top tens at least? Come on, you can do it!
Sisters hwaiting!

J. Song is one shot out of the lead for her first win...did she kick your dog?! I'll bet the Chinese like her, too.

Yikes! InGee is hitting it longer (261), but only 2 of 9 fairways so far and +5 on round!

Yikes! InGee is hitting it longer (261), but only 2 of 9 fairways so far and +5 on round! Yes accuracy seem to suffer when you start to add more yardage off the tee. Before So Yeon added yardage, she was about middle in accuracy and top twenty greens in regulation. Now she is struggling with both. But it's fixable for both of them.

My theory is that her new butt kicking swing is still too inaccurate for her to use in tournaments, so she clubs back and hence hits crummy driving distance. Every once in a while, when she has nothing to lose, she tries out her driving and the results end up like this.
She has a lot of work to do I think, but hopefully she'll iron it out before all the Majors are done. I'm not expecting much in the next couple of months, alas.

I wish I had more faith that Jennifer would pull it out, but I have a bad feeling she's saving her worst for last. I hope she proves me wrong!

Congratulation to Bronte Law for her first LPGA win.
Terrible finish by Jeongeun6 Lee, two double bogeys in her last four holes. With one birdie thrown in that helped some.
Jin Young minus eight, wasn't great but okay.
Hee Young Park and MJ Hur, minus nine had the best Korean tournament score. How many times will you be able to say that. But it's great to see them have a good tournament.

Totally miserable from start to finish...
I'll give Lucky Six credit for a great run most of her round; she got as high as 10 under. But boy, did she finish rough. Her worst event of the year, but glad she got it out of the way, because the coming week is the important one.
Hwaiting!
