No video interview with Porna. That doesn't seem right.

I got back from Round One about 90 minutes ago. Regarding the Twitter video HF posted showing Lucky 6 tapping in at #9, I'm in it...sky blue long sleeve top standing behind the 9th hole sign. On a personal basis, I'm sad that Mi Hyang and Mr. Lee were not here this week to greet them. However, on a golf basis, this is one of the best rounds I have ever seen at any tournament (and I've been to a lot of them). Later on in my report, I'll let you know all the stuff you did NOT see on Golf Channel. Of course, I didn't see the broadcast, but I can only imagine how much meager it was after you take out all the commercials and useless garbage. I could be wrong, but I thought in the past that they would keep the cameras rolling for a while after the broadcast ended, so the later good stuff could be shown on the next day's broadcast. Forget that now...I didn't see anyone in the camera towers after 2 PM, nor did I see any mobile camera guys zipping around in golf carts.
As Amy Yang approached the 9th tee box, she had a chuckle with a caddy about Jimin Kang (below), who was playing on the 12th fairway. JK is almost 40 and her small mom (mid-60s) was lugging JK's large tour trunk.

Tony, turn in your press badge....the player you identified at Pannarat Thanapolboonyaris is actually Pajaree (Meaw) Anannarukarn. I hope you got Meaw's pic Wednesday on the practice green, she looked terrific...not so much on Thursday as she had a white towel around and over the top of her head.

Round 1 A few days after the biggest win of her career, Lee6 turns up in Atlantic City, a tournament she probably committed to long before she knew what would happen in Charleston. Certainly you'd expect a letdown. Instead, she throws down a scintillating 8 under 63 and front nine 29. She shot a 63 despite three bogies. That's mind boggling; normally you have to be close to perfect to shoot that low. What will happen if she cuts down on the mistakes on the weekend? On this layout, so many were going low that even decent scores were getting lost in the crowd. Sei Young had a decent 67, as did Tiffany Joh. Amy Yang's 69 felt like a 79. Youngin Chun is at even, not far from the cut again. Can she finally earn her first paycheck on tour? But right now, it's all about the new kid in town. Good luck Lucky Six, and keep hwaiting!!!!! 63 is an up and down round? Really?

Should have been 61...I followed her last seven holes (#3 thru #9). At the par-5 3rd hole, her second shot finished one inch from the cup and her eagle attempt putt at the par-5 9th finished one inch from the cup...clearly, she needs to work on her distance control.
Lucky 6 didn't make the broadcast yesterday and she'll be finished when today's broadcast starts. Looks like they'll have the usual suspects today...Lexi, Lewis, the Pink One, the ECP.

Despite all the talk about goat tracks and low scores, the projected cut line is only -1...and this course is going to erase a lot of scrubs by the end of Saturday. Lori Beth Adams will be one of them...saw her last three holes on Friday. Karen Chung was in her group...Mama Chung had the best comment yesterday...she had a quick talk about KC with the volunteer at the rope entrance of the 8th fairway, concluding "She's a good player...and a good girl."
