The live YouTube feed is working well at the moment. They just showed the last group tee off at #1. I don't know if they'll start showing the people who started at #10 and are now playing at #1. That might be the only way to see surprising leader Solar Lee, who was -4 on the back nine.
Serena Aoki and Mi Jeong Jeon
Rumi Yoshiba and Teresa Lu

Solar Lee, another of my obscure avatars from back in the day. In addition to her CLPGA scrubbing (until earning her JLPGA card this year), she also got regular sponsor invites to the now-defunct KEB Hanabank.

Fascinating leaderboard with Solar, Kana, Karis and the return of lovely Ayaka Matsumori...even Sharon was in 1st at -4 thru six holes, before her predictable collapse...wish I were there. The prelim cut line is +1.

Did 18majors lose another bet? They don't care about Karis Davidson over on WRX.

I am giving up on Kotone Hori, hope she doesn't give up on herself.
My Hall of Famer Yuri Fudoh was even par on the front nine. But she shot plus four back nine, with a birdie, double bogey and three bogies. Still got a chance to make the cut.
Ha Neul, Ha Neul, what can I say except she should be contending. Not hanging around below the cut line. This golf thing is hard to figure out.

Didn't find any YouTube streaming tonight...I think someone really cracked down on it...at least the regular NTV broadcast link should work Sunday AM for Round Three. Solar Lee has a one-shot lead at -6 thru nine holes with creaky old Ji Hee Lee at one shot back. Sharon gagged with a double at the par-4 17th and finished at +3, T-52...but there might be enough bad future shots out there to make the cut later.
Her full name is Saranporn Langkulgasettrin...her bag says Saranporn Lang...her JLPGA name is S. Langkul

Saw some of the players show up on the Leaderboard that I haven't seen for a while. Like Yuki Ichinose for instance, to remember the Earth Quake I suppose.

I think it's a cat for Sunday (below). Her brand, Talking Tom Golf, is based on a Youtube cartoon that has five main characters: three cats and two dogs. I reported her signing with this brand in the Sponsorship News folder on March 10. I hope she had some bonus clauses in that deal for playing well or winning...she is giving this franchise YUGE publicity this week.
I'm going to bed now, until my 2 AM wake-up buzzer. I'm not looking at the leaderboard on this one until the broadcast starts.
I think a word-for-word translation of her Korean name 이솔라 is Lee Sol Ra ... but calling herself Solar is catchy and more marketable.

Sunday broadcast here starting with leaders at 13th green...best shots of the week start at 56:25, including Serena Aoki's ace at #13 on Sunday.
Ji Hee Lee needed a par at the par-5 18th to force a playoff...played a surprisingly aggressive second shot (there's a big pond in front of the green), but got away with it and rolled in a 10-foot birdie for her 23rd win.
RANK PLAYER SCORE 1R 2R 3R TOTAL PRIZE 優勝 Ji-Hee Lee -8 70 69 69 208 ¥18,000,000 2 Hikaru Yoshimoto -7 73 68 68 209 ¥8,800,000 3 Ah-Reum Hwang -6 70 71 69 210 ¥7,000,000 4T Lala Anai -5 73 71 67 211 ¥4,625,000 4T Mamiko Higa -5 72 69 70 211 ¥4,625,000 4T Erika Hara -5 72 68 71 211 ¥4,625,000 4T Miki Sakai -5 67 72 72 211 ¥4,625,000 8T Momoko Ueda -4 73 70 69 212 ¥2,322,500 8T Hina Arakaki -4 72 70 70 212 ¥2,322,500 8T Hiroko Azuma -4 70 70 72 212 ¥2,322,500 8T Solar Lee -4 68 70 74 212 ¥2,322,500 12T Serena Aoki -3 72 72 69 213 ¥1,590,000 12T Rumi Yoshiba -3 72 71 70 213 ¥1,590,000 12T Seonwoo Bae -3 70 71 72 213 ¥1,590,000
Does that thing have a trunk to slam?
Solar Lee...even the old guy wants to know about the animals
I never heard of Hikaru Yoshimoto, but this is her fourth top-six finish in her last five starts.
Karis (E) and Sharon (+9, 61st, DFL, ¥290,000 or $2,591 USD)
Serena Aoki
Erika Hara made her eagle putt at #18, which was setup by a superb second shot at 1:02:35 in the video above...still doesn't have a win on the big tour and I don't know why.
Ah Reum Hwang and SW Bae, who is 14th on the money list...I still think she'll win this year
Saki Nagamine (+2) is one of several players who had to jump on a flight to Tokyo afterward for Monday's 36-hole USWO qualifier.
Kana Nagai (E) lookin' good and the switch to the Mark & Lona brand is one reason for that...much more flattering than the 1930 nursing outfits she got from Viva Heart last year.

She may not have won, but this tournament produced the first new photos I've seen of Solar in about 3 years.
