Kotone Hori was plus three at one time, glad to see her finish plus one.
Ji Yai Shin just keep rolling along. While some of the top players that played the KLPGA with her are struggling. Ha Neul Kim and Bo Mee Lee just can't seem to break out of their slump. So Yeon has a slow start to the season and need to pick it up. Yeon Kyung Heo and Soo Jin Yang both had injuries. Hee Kyung Seo left to start a family. Shi Hyun Ahn is just hanging on at KLPGA. Haven't paid much attention to former Rookie of the Year Hee Yong Choi. But she is still doing ok.

it was only a matter of time before eimi koga would get her day at the top of the leaderboard... she has played exceptionally well this season. the video above also has her highlights and a long interview at around 44:00..although from hawaii she speaks fluent japanese.
i posted previously her life and death experience on a golf course in hawaii; while in highschool in a tournamnt in Kona on the big island she was hit in the head with a golf ball from an errant 3 wood of a team mate at a distance of 30 yards and had to be airlifted to Honolulu for emergency surgery that saved her life. there is a nice Seattle Times article on the web about the accident.

Kotone gets another paycheck, baby steps. I hope that she can have a good final round. Natsuka Hori had an even par second round. But the plus six first round did her in.

When Jiyai was in her prime on the KLPGA, the big three were her, Sun Ju Ahn and Eun Hee Ji. Amazingly, all three are still playing top level golf to this day. In 2007, Shin's best KLPGA year, the Rookie of the Year was Ha Neul Kim. Who could have predicted three of those ladies would be playing in Japan in 2019?

I only remember that they all crossed paths at one time. So most of what I wrote was from memory, and patchy. Because I had help trying to follow the KLPGA during that time. I guess it was Sun Ju Ahn that I was thinking about, instead Shi Hyun Ahn.

Came over to catch part of the JLPGA tournament. First saw Erika Kikuchi miss a short birdie putt on seventeen. That would have tied her for the lead at minus nine with Ji Yai Shin. Then saw Ji Yai miss a short par putt on fifteen to fall back to minus eight. Didn't see the rest because I went back to watch the KLPGA finish. Kotone Hori shot three straight seventy threes. First tournament that she has not had a round two over or worst.
