From the tournament website:
The Pairings Party features gourmet hors d’oeuvres, a premium open bar and live entertainment, creating a relaxing and fun atmosphere for all players to get to know their LPGA Pro partners and strategize for the tournament.
Players will be competing in an 18-hole scramble tournament (shotgun format). BBQ lunch will be provided prior to start, and beverages will be available every few holes. Everyone will be playing with a designated pro for all 18 holes, and the team with the lowest score will win the coveted Kore Pro-Am Cup.
Immediately following the tournament, winners will be recognized at an Award Ceremony featuring gourmet food, a premium open bar and live music. This reception is also an excellent opportunity for networking with celebrities, corporate leaders and, of course, professional golfers!

I believe it's a semi-charitable event. This looks like a blast, one big 2-day party. It looks like the cheapest buy-in is $6500 for a foursome. Possibly tax deductible.

Thanks Jumpcut. The cynic in me still believes it is little more than an opportunity for guys with a thing for Asian girls. You say it's semi-charitable, I think that's a charitable description. I looked hard for something resembling a mission statement on that website but couldn't find it. Seems like a party for party's sake. Not that there's anything wrong with that. It does kind of remind me of those golf escort/female caddy type agencies though.

I went to the parent company website at www.kore.am and it seems to be a pretty well-established Asian American media organization. You're right...it doesn't appear to have an overt charitable component but it seems to have laudable goals. This is from their About section: Kore Asian Media is a lifestyle brand that connects you to Asian America through community, entertainment and news. We facilitate discussion on the experience of today’s diverse Asian American diaspora in two ways: With original content, by producing relevant videos and articles to engage viewers with influencers who are making a difference in the community, politics, fashion, sports, technology and beyond; and with events, by putting on celebrations like the Unforgettable Gala and Pro-Am to help empower those seeking to make an impact. Now supported by parent company London Trust Media, Kore traces its roots back to 1990, where it began as a print operation that grew into two now-defunct publications: the award-winning KoreAm Journal and Audrey Magazine.

Well I'm sold. We are going next year, you, me, Philk and 18majors. We will represent this site. Only $6500 for a foursome.
I would love to slam beers with Chella and Mi Hyang. Get a little grabby with Cheyenne. Tell Alison what I really think of her. Corner Lisa Cornwell, tell her everything that's wrong with golf on tv today. It will be totally worth the admission.
