Round 2
By and large it was a strong day for the Sisters. Even Ji Hyun Oh, who missed the cut by a mile, managed an under par round 2; so, a little redemption. Maybe next time! Let's not forget that In Gee did not play all that well in her first few LPGA events in 2015, then won the US Women's Open in the summer.
Speaking of In Gee, she managed a third good round in a row. 70 is not bad on this track. She still has an outside shot at a win, but she will have to really rocket on moving day. But even if she doesn't win, let's hope she can manage a good weekend and a top ten. Hwaiting!
Sung Hyun is getting used to leading after two rounds. Another fantastic round by her. Will we see world's #1 form tomorrow, or will she throw out her Z game? Time will tell.
Another Park has silently crept into the hunt. I liked the joke about seeing a potential Park battle this week at Aviara PARK Hyatt. Maybe it's fate?
Many more Sisters up there. Minjee Lee is almost as overdue a win as Inbee. Chella hung in there and is just one back. Defending champ Eun Hee Ji may have another ace up her sleeve? And a great rally by Six, 67, although she was completely ignored in favor of several rookies who were not playing nearly as well. Sooner or later she's going to have a breakout week, might as well start now.
Even Jin Young Ko, former champ Mirim Lee and Sei Young Kim are just outside the top 20.
So Yeon almost never misses cuts. I'm starting to get the slightest bit worried about her start this season. Perhaps she took it a bit too easy during the off season and might be paying the price a little? I still think she'll right the ship before long.
Sisters Hwaiting!!!
