If I didn't want to play three tournaments in a row. Founders would be the one that I would skip. She knows her fan will always find a way to support her.

SoYeonFanThe purse is $300,000 less than Kia, but my bet is the field is better at Founders than Kia.

This is really an exciting tournament; the first full field event on the US soil.
Inbee Park has to be the favorite; she's the defending champion and she played well in Singapore.

I don't know if they are playing the Palmer Course or the Faldo Course. I've played the Faldo Course and it is a quality round of golf.
Looks like our two local club manufacturers PXG and Ping both have their major players entered. Lydia, the "Striking Viking" and ASU alumn Anna Nordqvist and Gerina for PXG. Ingee and Brooke for Ping. I've heard Bob Parsons puts on a heck of a party for his players.
Right now Phoenix is slammed with winter visitors and spring training. Perfect time for a golf tournament. Better time than Waste Management which draws over 700,000 spectators. But NO advertising or promotion. So far, no newspaper, no tv, nothing. I played Aquila yesterday and was talking with the pro. He didn't even know it was going on next weekend!

With so many people in town already for Cactus League baseball it's kind of hard for this event to get the attention it deserves. I had to plan early for the times I went and it still wasn't perfect.Kevin

The KLPGA's Yoon Ji Cho was a sponsor invite. I can't recall her playing a tournament in the U.S. before...but after further research, she bombed out of the 2016 USWO.

Just realized the season wasn’t over. Looking forward to this one. Seriously, the LPGA has a choppy start to the season.

The Monday qualifier list has ballooned to 73, inching close to the 84 limit. Yealimi Noh will most likely be bumped. Fortunately, there're still two open invitation spots, may be she'll be invited What do you mean "bumped"? I never heard of anyone getting knocked out of a Monday qualifier by a higher ranked player under any circumstances, although the LPGA could theoretically do that...from The Terms & Conditions sheet: Player understands that this application and payment of applicable fees is subject to acceptance by the LPGA, and the respective Competition/Tournament owner, operator or sponsors, and that it may be rejected or revoked without liability at any time before or after commencement of Competition play, including without limitation, if Player fails to meet applicable eligibility requirements, violates the LPGA Tournament and Player regulations, Code of Conduct or otherwise conducts herself in a manner unbecoming of a professional golfer. As far as I'm concerned she Hana Bank paid her $500 and she is in. BTW, Dr. Noh is in the Monday qualifier for Kia. Yealimi is No. 64 on Kia Monday qualification and the field size is 60. We'll find out whether she gets to play.

I like Kia better than Founders because they usually set up the Founders course way too easy, whereas Kia tends to be more challenging. I'm hoping this year we get a winning score around 15 under, but my guess is it will be closer to 25 under. Too bad So Yeon won't be there. Remember that year when they didn't have a purse and everyone played for free? That's the year I would have skipped.

Phoenix is always a shootout and next week should be no exception; winning scores were -19, -25, -27, -21 and -19 the last 5 years. In Gee hasn't shot -4 or better since 2018 KEB Hana Bank; hope she'll do that here.

SoYeonFan The purse is $300,000 less than Kia, but my bet is the field is better at Founders than Kia. The Kia course is a lot better than the Founders. There will be a lot more fans, especially Korean fans at Kia. Not to mention she wont have to take a break between starts. So Yeon is getting into her Inbee mode, where she is focused on Majors. Correction: I was thinking about the Hugel that had a lot of Korean fans.

Anybody know what the deal is behind LPGA players going as guests to The Players Championship. Seems like there are a handful each year now.

There're movements in the final field; Gemma Drybourgh, #149, withdrew from Monday qualification presumably to take up a spot in the field.
Monday qualification list is steady at 72; Yealimi should be safe to play next Monday.

In the meantime, check out the sweet-swinging LPGA rookie Anne van Dam, a Dutch pro who might work her way onto this year’s Solheim Cup team. The long-hitting van Dam has won three of her last five Ladies European Tour events, including the ActewAGL Canberra Classic earlier this month. A post her of her golf swing on Twitter in November has nearly 750,000 views. It’s easy to see why. Thompson, Wie to skip Bank of Hope Founders Cup

2020 Tokyo Olympics watch has started Korean players have a strong desire to play in the Olympics. However, as there are so many players who are active in the world stage, we can not claim to play in the remaining time of about one year and four months. So many of the players such as Park Sung-hyun, Yoo-Yeon, Go Jin-young, Kim Se-young and Jeon Ji-eun say, "I want to participate in the Tokyo Olympics but there are so many excellent players in Korea and the competition is so fierce that I can not see it." It is because of the splendid aspect of the subordinates such as Yang Hee-young (13th), Kim Se-young (17th), Ji Eun-hee (19th), Jeon Ahn (21st) and Lee Jung-eun (22nd). 도쿄올림픽 D-500, 골프 국가대표 경쟁 ‘뉴페이스 속속’[골프와치]
