don I don't think In Gee has ever reached the height of Yani and Lydia in golf achievement; but she compensated that with enormous love from her fans and an immense treasury chest from her endorsements. Who do you think had a better 2015, Lydia or In Gee? This might have been Lydia's career year, too.

The best year of any players, male or female, since Yani Tseng's 2011. Lydia won 7 times including one major and 2 LET's; LET doesn't count much.

Jenny Shin is going to have a year. If she could win a few times she has the ability to finally be the breakthrough Korean among American fans. She can be funny, speaks English with a SoCal accent, gives a great interview, spills her heart out on IG and on-course she wears her emotions on her sleeve. What more could anyone want? When Golfweek writes a Jenny Shin feature I'll eat a Titleist.

It's been a while since In Gee is within 2 strokes of the lead after the first round; a step in the right direction. She continues to struggle with GIR, but putting has been solid from the beginning of the season. But her driving distance continues to be a worry. Right now she is fourth from worst in the entire league. I looked it up, and here were her stats in previous seasons: 2016: 253.75, 53rd 2017: 252.17, 79th 2018: 243.76, 146th That is a huge drop in driving distance. I have a hard time believing it's the injury from the suitcase; that happened early in 2016, and it didn't seem to affect her much for the next two years. In 2018, she was 8th in the league in putting and 22nd in GIR. So despite hitting longer clubs into the greens, she's still hitting a lot of greens, and her short game is still world class. I'm hoping that they are working on this, because I feel like if she can even get back to where she was two years ago in driving distance, it could cure all her ills. If she actually improves her distance, like So Yeon did two years ago, we could see her really shine. In Gee's driving distance has been my concern over the last 15 months, but it hasn't been the priority of In Gee, or more importantly, Dr. Won Park. My real concern is whether she scores easy birdies on par 5's. She improved from sub 240 yards to 245 yards and had 2 birdies on par 5 yesterday; we'll see whether she holds at 245 yards or longer.

Much like yesterday, eighteen scores posted and only Lydia Ko is under par at -1.

The scores may be a tad higher than yesterday; winds about 10 mph.

They're saying on the All-Talk-No-Golf pregame show that the pin locations are a bit easier today but the wind has picked up and should increase throughout the day.
Oops, gotta run...they're sampling the "fabulous food concessions on offer!"
