I just looked at Monday and didn't pay attention to the date. One week from now I should have no trouble going out there. Twenty seven miles in that traffic, it will have to be the second round. I like to see why Jimin Kang who has not been playing any competitive golf. Expect to qualify .

Two Trojans advance...I guess ex-coach Gaston got totally bored with winning, so she wanted a change...and she got it; Texas A&M finished 13th out of 14 teams at this month's SEC championships.

Great job by Jennifer and Gabriela, they are two of the top players. I talked to some of the USC lady golf team fans at the ANA. They were a lot closer to the Gaston situation than I am. Their unanimous opinion of her was good radiance. They were glad to see her go.

The Sunday Hong Kong qualifier has already started and the CLPGA website is posting scores after each hole is played by all 44 players. They are playing the Old Course at Hong Kong GC...don't know the setup, but it wouldn't surprise me if they used the back tees (6246 yards).
I assume there is only one spot up for grabs, along with two alternates. They earliest tee times were 6:30 AM (ugh) and one of my favorites is gunning for her second USWO in three years, Weiwei Zhang. She is -4 thru 13 holes and leads by one stroke in her AM round. She's nice to look at, has a cool swing, models the Le Coq Golf brand superbly and posed for a pic I took of her at Bedminster in 2017.
Founded in 1889, it sure looks impressive...they have 63 holes.
There's no water on this hole, but lots of trees.

What a frickin' disaster. Weiwei Zhang had this wrapped up with a bow, but finished with a 7 on the par-5 9th to fall into a tie for 3rd place with Jessica Peng. It ended with Babe Liu tied for 1st with Prima Thammaraks, so they must be in a playoff now. Zhang and Peng should be in a playoff as well...might best guess would be for 2nd alternate.
UPDATE: Just confirmed that two spots were available, so Liu and Thammaraks don't need a playoff, they are IN. Therefore, Zhang and Peng are gunning for a valuable 1st alternate spot or a worthless 2nd alternate spot.
Weiwei Zhang and Babe Liu

Look like I am not going to make it to the qualifying today. Bummer I wanted to cheer on the USC golfers.

You missed Jammin' Jimin turn back the clock with a 2nd place finish, 70-71-141, -3. Steph Meadow finished ahead of her at -6. I assume at least the top two players will be picked from this field.

Lucy Li was a WD in Novato, CA. It seems like the injury that knocked her out of Augusta might be serious. The other big news item was Muni He sharing the morning lead at 68...before imploding in the afternoon with a 76. Her even score of 144 tied her with Dr. Noh...both finished nine shots behind winner Morgan Pressel. NK Madsen got the 2nd qualifier spot and they're having a playoff for 1st alternate between Ruixin Liu and Charlotte Thomas.

Home town cooking for Jimin Kang. She has made her home here for quite some time. It's possible that she belongs to the Pinnacle Country Club.
