Propaganda article above on how great this field is .... no, it is NOT! The star of this event is the Banks Course of Forsgate CC. They'll be choosing only one qualifier and two alternates. I looked up one of the pros (only eight here), Andrea Wong ... made 4 cuts in 18 career starts on the Symetra Tour. At least half the pros here are instructors ... I remember one of them from 2016 at the Canoe Brook CC qualier, Jessica Carafiello. JC made it to the 2009 USWO at Saucon Valley (below) ... I was there for Round Two, but wouldn't have known who she was if I had tripped over her.

Met Andrea Wong at the Legacy Golf Resort. She was a practice partner of my friend Page Lee. They went to College together. Page is still stuck on the Cactus Tour.

I returned from this about 90 minutes ago...a report will follow later. My pick for winning, Ami Gianchandani, finished T-7. I followed my second pick for winning, Cindy Ha, during her first nine holes of her PM round where she four-jacked the 3rd and 8th greens. I figured she was dead and followed other players afterward, although I was surprised to see that she bounced back to a tied position for 2nd Alternate. However, Ha did not stick around for the playoff ... as a pro, maybe she wanted to jump on a plane to tournament right away, who knows. I'm sure she's smart enough to know that the 1st Alternate position is valuable, while the 2nd Alternate position is WORTHLESS!

Congrats to Naomi Ko for winning in Oregon and getting into her second USWO in the last four years. She's wrapping up her senior year at NC State ... the pro tour option doesn't look promising when your career college scoring average is 75+.

Suzuka Yamaguchi played the USWO in 2015 as a 14 year old... at the time the youngest to qualify for USWO. she now returns 4 years later as a 18yr old rookie LPGA player... it was not specific on her instagram but i assume this is her birdie putt on the first playoff hole.. its the 2nd page of the post... http://instagram.com/p/BwyCv3plmbd

Cydney Clanton just won on the Symetra Tour...I guess she could be the favorite in this really weak field:
April 30, Springfield VA - Cydney Clanton, Alexis Belton, Samantha Wagner, Lauren Coughlin, and Kim Williams.

The May 6 qualifier in Scottsdale AZ is the only one that hasn't posted a field yet.
