I always admire you for giving yourself such a gigantic task every year; but you've never flinched and get better and better.

HappyFanIn Gee chipped in from the fringe at par 3 12th to save par, not to birdie. Thanks for the correction. I'll fix it tonight. Boy, I could have sworn it was for birdie; memory plays tricks sometimes!

In Gee was tied at - 14 with Charley Hull; she was going to fall out of the lead if the chip didn’t go in.

I’m not a Namdalla fan, but she’s the Player of the Year because she won a LPGA major and 3 LPGA tour wins. Lucky 6 may not win a single LPGA major or 3 LPGA tour wins in her career.
I'd also rank Jiyai Shin and Sun Ju Ahn ahead of Lucky 6.
By the way, I'm a bigger fan of Lucky 6 than either Namdalla, Jiyai or Big Mama.

Interesting take, and I do agree you could make a case for Shin in particular (I actually chose her initially, then talked myself out of it).
If you give out the award based solely on who wins the most important global events, Sung Hyun Park is undeniably Player of the Year for the reason you said. I don't do that, because then most years it would just be the top Korean on the LPGA, and that would make for a boring award.
My award takes into account the home tour of the player. Think of it as the player who generates the most excitement in her particular sphere. By that standard, Park, as I said in my post, is very problematic for POY. I can't think of another player who had as many struggles as she had and still was able to get to #1.
I do think it was close, but Namdalla had too many bad events, too many missed cuts, too many moments where she collapsed to be POY. Lee, Shin and Ahn all had weak moments, but not nearly as many. And recall that two of her three wins had a large luck factor as well, as I mentioned.
As I said, it was CLOSE. Shin and Lee were the only multiple Major winners on their tours. But Lee almost won a Major on Shin's tour as well, and there's a lot involved in winning an event in a place you've never played before. And Shin basically focused on Japan, whereas Lee was all over the map, played a lot less than her main rivals in Korea, and STILL won the money list and scoring title. So that's my argument for Lee, anyway!
