Some of the comments below that article are priceless.
The organizers of the tournament formerly known as the Oates Vic should pay attention to what happened there. The Vic was a fun little event when it was sponsored by an angled broom company. ISPS Handa is a well-known charity, but it IS a non-profit and it wouldn't be a huge surprise if its fortunes changed down the road.

You're right about ISPS Handa; they're neither Walmart nor Evian but their finger prints are everywhere. Good thing is ISPS only signs up for 2 years; Vic organizers have their eyes wide open.

In 2019 the LET plays three straight Mickey Mouse events in Oz after the LPGA exits the scene. The LET should "reacquire" the NZ Women's Open and graft it on to the end of its Aussie swing in the future. The NZ market is too small to handle the LPGA.
