Watching Shin Ae early in her career, I really didn't expect her to be a top five golfer. But I thought that she would be a top thirty golfer or at least inside the top fifty. She doesn't play enough to have any meaningful stats. So it's hard to figure out what is keeping her from performing better.

It's not surprising to see Seon Woo Bae keep rolling, but I've been really impressed by Hyun Ju Yoo so far. For a player who has not been able to maintain a KLPGA tour card, so far she has had little trouble with this Q-School thing. of course, next time is the one that counts, but good luck to her!

Per Google mush of the article above, SW Bae explains why she wants to play in Japan:
Because the reason why Songwoo aimed for Japan tour was "dream from the time of junior". "I saw a Japanese tour on TV, I guess it was surely a meiji cup, but I thought that I wanted to go to Japan by watching a professional receiving a chocolate at that time at that time (laugh)" .
"And when I participated in THE QUEENS three times I really liked the Japanese golf culture. While it is a different competition by tour even though it is different tours, those who applaud without a team in good play , I was impressed by the gallery that encourages words of encouragement that I am not Japanese .. I was thankful for the golfers being cherished so much that I decided at that time that I would like to play in Japan "(Songhu)

The media over there has finally caught up to Yoo...a translated caption of one pic says "Ahn Shin Ae II"

stage 4 pairings are now posted on the jlpga website. noticed that KOTONE HORI is in the field, although i didnt see her listed anywhere for stage 3.
all the players i was watching made stage 4, except HIKARI FUJITA. i hope she keeps playing in the step up tour and maybe get some invites to the regular tour. she had wrist surgery last year.
also hiromi kamata did not make stage 4, along with her sister honey kamata were born in japan and went to school in austrailia, they seem to be pals with jennifer hirano. i hope they all will play the step up tour next year.

Stage Four gets a little harder with the addition of past winners such as Erina Hara, Yukari Nishiyama, Fumika Kawagishi, and O Sattaya, along with non-winners Rie Tsuju, Megumi Shimokawa and Kotone Hori. From a field of 102, I think the top-33 get full tour privileges for the first half of 2019...they'll be subject to re-ranking after that.
Do Yeon Kim at Yamaha Resort (Katsuragi) last week for Stage Three.

Somebody named Nayeon Eum was in second place with a 67 after Round One. Never heard of her before...the surname "Eum" is a new one on me. She's the only Eum on the KLPGA website...age 25, has been a career scrub on the Dream and Jump tours, except for when she made to the big tour in 2016 (and bombed out completely).
