Round 4 Hye Jin Choi stumbled early on and never recovered. Ji Hyun Oh played brilliantly, eventually dominating the tournament with an 8-shot win, one of the biggest in KLPGA Major history. This is the fifth win of Oh's career and second Major. It's also the first win of 2018 for her after many close calls. She left nothing to chance this time! 1 OH Ji Hyun -17 69 68 68 66 271 2 KIM Bo Ah -9 70 70 68 71 279 3 IN Ju Yeon -7 68 70 72 71 281 - KIM Hye Sun2 -7 68 70 72 71 281 - PARK Ji Young -7 71 68 73 69 281 - LEE Jeong Eun6 -7 71 70 71 69 281 7 LEE So Young -6 73 69 70 70 282 8 CHOI Hye Jin (R) -5 70 66 72 75 283 - PARK Min Ji -5 70 69 69 75 283 - KIM Ji Young2 -5 74 67 73 69 283 - PARK Ju Young -5 74 72 65 72 283 Ji Hyun Oh Celebrate Trophy Bo Ah Kim Ju Yeon In Hye Sun Kim Jeong Eun Lee 6 Hye Jin Choi Han Sol Ji (t-22, -1) Min Sun Kim (t-13, -3) Ha Na Jang (t-27, Even) Ji Young Kim Da Yeon Lee (t-22, -1) Inbee Park (t-13, -3) Hye Jung Lee (t-40, +3) Sang Hee Han (t-40, +3) Hyo Rin Lee (t-40, +3) Eun Soo Jang (t-61, +7) Shin Ae Ahn (t-65, +9) Gyeol Park (T-75, +11) Hae Rym Kim (t-72, +10) Q Baek (t-65, +9) Amateur Ha Yeon Yun (t-40, +3)

Just a great week for Ji Hyun Oh, one of my two or three favorite players on the KLPGA. I think my favorite thing about following women's golf is when one of the players I've been watching and rooting for makes that big step up in her career. This victory feels like such a moment for Ji Hyun Oh. I remember first becoming aware of Oh back in 2013 when the then-17-year-old amateur notched a top ten at the Korea Women's Open (the same year In Gee won it). I had a feeling she had some real potential in her, and over the next few years watched as she slowly became better and better. Arguably, last year was her breakthrough, with two wins and a third place finish on the money list. But this win seems bigger. Not just because she claimed the most important event of the KLPGA season, but because she did it in overwhelming fashion, breaking the all-time record for lowest score at this tournament (the record was previously held by Dumbo). Add onto that the three runner-up finishes she had this season, and it feels like we may have just witnessed the full-fledged arrival of another big Korean star. It's going to be great to see how the other big names respond: if Ha Na Jang reasserts herself, if Hye Jin or Lucky Six get back to their 2017 form, or if someone else rises up. But in the meantime, congrats to Ji Hyun Oh on her epic, brilliant victory!!! https://www.instagram.com/p/BkJl9sdA-5H
