golfweek.com/2018/04/30/golf-the-forecaddie-expect-lpga-to-join-team-competition-party/The guys can’t have all the fun. The Forecaddie hears the LPGA plans to follow the PGA Tour’s lead with a new team competition, à la the Zurich Classic. The Man Out Front already can hear the walk-up music. Perhaps another Justin Bieber tune for the likely pairing of Michelle Wie and Danielle Kang. (Players choose walk-up music at the both the International Crown and Solheim Cup.) Potential LPGA team event groupings Inbee Park/So Yeon Ryu Ariya Jutanugarn/Moriya Jutanugarn Jessica Korda/Nelly Korda Michelle Wie/Danielle Kang Suzann Pettersen/Carlota Ciganda Paula Creamer/Morgan Pressel Lexi Thompson/Cristie Kerr Stacy Lewis/Gerina Piller Brooke Henderson/Alena Sharp Brittany Lincicome/Brittany Lang Pernilla Lindberg/Azahara Munoz

I am not that high on the fact that women needs the men to grow their game. The lady tennis players game is popular without leaning on the men for support. The LPGA should have enough pride in themselves to promote their own game. Without having to lean on the PGA for support. They need to find a way to increase purses. Then more USA women players will want to make it a career. That would attract more US sponsors. It shouldn't have to be that way, but it is what it is!
My personal opinion is the LPGA is better than it has ever been. A much higher number of skilled golfers, that makes it fun to watch. But I don't write checks.

All the suggested pairings I've seen in the media and the golf forums just seem so lame. Thompson & Kerr? Don't we get enough of that every two years at Solheim?
The organizers need to think outside the box. How about Angela Stanford & In Bee, the Rocket & Smile Candy, Stacy L. & Haru Nomura, Juli & Ting Ting...

A third event in Michigan?! Someone speculated on GolfWrx that the Volvik may get dropped when that contract runs out...that would be surprising considering how much marketing $ Volvik dumps into the LPGA in general. Oh, that reminds me of an obvious team: MHL and Chella. That PGA Tour New Orleans team event just didn't hold my attention this year...the LPGA team event might end up being just as dull.

I've noticed that the purses for newly signed tournaments have been at least $1,500,000; it looks like LPGA is finally able to discontinue those $1,300,000 specials.

In Gee and Ha Na Jang would be a great pairing... They should allow the LPGA ladies to invite a player from off the tour. Sung Hyun Park and Eun Jeong Seong? Jeong Eun Lee 5 + 6? Hee Young and Ju Young Park? Etc.
