FINAL STANDINGSWith unanimous selections Inbee and Hyo Joo squeaking into the Table along with Mirim scores trended upwards on the final day. Guess won, if you could call it that, the race to the bottom in a close race with boomer and baggerbob despite the latter trailing with just four scoring selections. It was even closer at the top of the Standings this week. First, kudos to the Saint for leading with eight scoring selections, half of whom few if anyone had. He was alone in picking Carlota Ciganda (T4) and Jenny Shin (T11), was one of just two to select Mi Hyang Lee and just four to tab Suzann Pettersen (both T8). However as he was alone in NOT picking Stacy Lewis his scorecard was only good enough to place - ninth.
The rest of the top eleven had seven selections apiece. You'd be endlessly splitting hairs as to what caused player X to finish higher than player Y anywhere within the top eleven but it is clear what the difference was between GD Smyth and ghinhee: the players who gave them points were identical save for one. Unlike ghinhee, Mirim Lee (T11) did not appear on GD's card but Pettersen did, so by the closest margin possible GD Smyth emerges victorious this week. Golfing Grammy comes within a half point of snagging the silver but finishes two points clear of a logjam in fourth.
We get a week off to enjoy the first MENS major of the season before Elf returns to host the contest for the Lotte. It will be a Wednesday start so start thinking early who you want to select!Kevin
