HappyFanI'm worried for In Gee if she doesn't make the team: 1. What would tens of thousands of Flying Dumbo's do during the tournament week? 2. Would all Flying Dumbo's boycott In Gee's Flying Dumbo Dinner at year end?

IIRC, In Gee was in the fourth - sixth position most of 2016. She managed to sneak into the final spot at literally the last moment (I think she had a good finish in the US Women's Open, and that got her onto both this team and the Olympics squad). So there's still plenty of time for her to right the ship!

Twelve tournaments, including 3 majors, will be played before players are selected on July 1,2018. But time may not be the best medicine for In Gee. In Gee has lost her sparks; she finished outside of Top 10 in all five 2017 Majors. She hasn't had any real chances to win even though she had 5 second place finishes in 2017. It's all in her head; more precisely, her putting.

What do you mean she didn't have any real chances? In Gee was in a playoff with Ariya and Lexi at the Manulife. On the first playoff hole, In Gee barely missed her birdie putt, and Ariya made her mid-length birdie putt for the win.
Also, she was one shot behind Stacy in Portland last year after she birdied the par 3 16th. It was her 6th birdie of the day. She needed a birdie on 17 or 18 to force a playoff, as Stacy played to even par on her back nine after shooting 3 under on the front.

She could've easily been ahead of Ariya at Manulife, and earned the easy win when Lexi delivered it on a silver platter. She had at least two short putts to draw even with Stacy in Portland before the 16th. She didn't believe she could've won and the results validated it.

She also had a decent chance to win in Korea, but she didn't bring her A Game on Sunday and Jin Young did.

What actually happened is that Chun missed the cut at the US Women's Open, but still managed to just hang onto her spot on the Olympic team. I do recall sweating it out that weekend wondering if she would hang on. Here's what I wrote at the time:

I am glad that In Gee is being picked on for not wining, instead of So Yeon. kidding. In Gee will be just fine. I followed her in Phoenix and her game is solid. The only problem she had was not hitting some putts hard enough. On those over-seeded rye greens, you need to putt at least a foot pass the hole. If not the grain will move it left or right, at the hole on slow putts. Either that, or a great roll on the ball.

Inbee will be in if she stays healthy, she'll keep most of her points even if she doesn't play well.
With more than twelve weeks to go, Sung Hyun and So Yeon can potentially drop their averages to around 5.50 and IK to 4.80 if they don't play well.
That'd give other players many chances if they catch fires.
One thing the players should keep in mind, it probably will take an average of 5.90 or higher to get in.

In Gee needs to earn 100 points in her next 10 tournaments to make the team; that's a 10.00 Rolex Ranking performance.
Either she plays like No. 1 player in the next 3 months or she wins a Major like Lindberg.

It's probably never happened before that No. 1 Rolex player has an average of less than 7.00.
With eleven more tournaments to go, it's still fluid.
However, it doesn't look good for In Gee Chun; she won' make it if she finishes like her previous eight tournaments T30 T5 T31 T22 T51 T15 T9 3.

After the Lotte. Inbee's final few holes in the final round probably cost her the #1 ranking, but she's still in good shape for the International Crown team.
3. Inbee Park 6.67(same) 4. Sung Hyun Park 5.97 (same) 5. So Yeon Ryu 5.90 (same) 7. IK Kim 5.37 (same)
Close but no cigar: 10. Hye Jin Choi 4.91 (same) 12. In Gee Chun 4.69 (same) 18. Jin Young Ko 3.80 (same) 19. Sei Young Kim 3.71 (same) 20. Amy Yang 3.60 (same) 21. Eun Hee Ji 3.53 (+1)
