The Korean women's hockey team isn't that bad....about 6-8 good players.....the rest are average. It's a shame there is no body checking in the women's game...and to make it REAL hockey...there should be some fighting too.
How many ice arenas where built for these games?

Once upon a time Australia's Seven Network, that country's Olympic rights holder, treated the Winter Olympics like a big party. There was no chance of Oz actually winning any medals so the commentators had free reign to report on the big picture while keeping a side eye on their country's competitors. Then when Australia actually won its first ever winter gold - in short track, when the competition literally fell down and opened a path for a Walter Mitty-esque finish - the floodgates opened, for at last Seven had someone to celebrate. Fast forward to 2018 and to date the land down under has a total of 5 winter golds coming into these games and Seven is now copying from NBC's playbook on how to cover an Olympics, which makes more sense for the summer games or for the Commonwealth Games (which will be on Queensland's Gold Coast this year) than for the winter games.www.abc.net.au/news/2018-02-12/winter-olympics-north-koreas-cheerleaders-have-nothing-on-seven/9421412?sf181860155=1Kevin

Close call the other night! Wardrobe Malfunction for South Korean Ice dancer Mars performanceThe clasp on Yura Min's top broke, and she spent the rest of her program worrying about her top coming off. This spin was her closest call. She said she had to shrug her shoulders to keep it on. You can see the clasp hanging loose here They had to call off a couple of lifts, but otherwise she was able to keep it decent the entire skate and without panicking! (her partner was given a special expedited citizenship so he could compete for Korea. Yeah, that's the way things work these days at the Olympics). The costume company's stock is bound to take a hit!

Tonight (Sunday) Chloe Kim starts her quest for a gold medal. Kim is a fascinating story. She is a prodigy at the half pipe, one of those stupid X Games sports I have no use for. But Kim is great at it, and though only 17, is already so accomplished at the sport that she actually qualified 4 years ago for Sochi, but was too young to be on the team (age limit is 15). Advertisers are lining up to hire her for commercials. The fact that she's a Korean American and might come out of these games as the biggest American star is pretty cool, so I'm rooting for her despite my normal aversion to these types of sports. And she seems to have a peppy So Cal personality, too, so that never hurts. Go Chloe! Chloe Kim Is Ready for LiftoffI don't know anything about snowboarding/halfpipe and this the first time i'm watching it, but HOLY COW! Chloe Kim's first run was spectacular. It was like watching 2000 Tiger Woods.

Chloe and Ted Ligety were plugging Nabisco crackers/cookies in yesterday's coupon insert of the newspaper.
Chloe just goofed her second run, but has one more to go and is still in first place.
During a Spanish girl's run, you got a good look at the YONEX word and logo on the bottom of her board...until she wiped out.

F*CK....98.25 for the FAKE Korean.....FIGHTING!!! Kinda crazy that her dad stopped working to put all the pressure on her...and really SCARY she qualified for Sochi.
Considering the Korean's need for GREED...I hope she's been an IMG client for the past 3 years...but knowing the Classic Korean's DNA for poor execution...she might be another Dumbo...NO LOGO's.

You'll drool over FAKE Korean, Chloe....yet you never say anything about the MOST FAMOUS women's golfer and a HUGE FAKE....the Asian Giraffe...no talk about other FAKE's of Xtina, GIMMEE, Kang, etc Yet you fawn over a BIG FAKE, Minjee Lee. We are all scratching our heads.

I think this gal wanted to show off her Asian breasts and P*SS off cannlinny. Why didn't she just stop her performance and go to the judges for a Harding re-start ....ala 1994.

I'm disappointed seeing so many failed attempts in the women's slopestyle and half pipe...though the winds were creating havoc in the former.

I think all the snow is man made...there's no snow in the surrounding areas.

I watched the downhill portion of the slalom/downhill combined competition...a total waste of time. The course is not particularly interesting and it only takes about 1 min. 20 secs. to complete...will they make it longer and more difficult for the downhill competition? Now for some REAL skiing...remember the racer in the all yellow suit with red helmet? Most of you could probably guess who that is by that description alone...that's how unforgettable he was: www.youtube.com/watch?v=4fyIHXouWUo

Like most of you, I have rarely watched this sport, but even a newbie like me could spot the difference between Chloe and everyone else. The height she achieved was insane! You knew the field was in trouble when she knocked off a 93 and wasn't even giving it her best. Then she really rolled out the tricks for her victory lap. Even the old East German judges wouldn't have been able to steal that gold away from her. Congrats, Chloe! She tweeted this between runs tonight (!). Millenials... Her third run had back-to-back 1080s. She is the only woman (girl?) who has ever done that in any competition. Hope she got a good meal after that! Don't want her to be hangry when she's collecting her hardware! https://www.instagram.com/p/BfITYnOA3qk https://www.instagram.com/p/BfIPHZvn13k

Watching NBCSN now and they just had the hideous luge crash of Emily Sweeney...fortunately, she was up and walking afterward, but they sent her to the hospital anyway. They didn't show a replay, but it's on Youtube:
