So the Monday practice rd was washed out...does anyone know if those patrons are allowed to attend today? Nope. A one day ticket is only good for that day. They limit the number of 'patrons' on the grounds. Since the 'patrons' were on site till 2:30 (I think) that may well have been the end of their Masters this year. When we were there several years ago the Monday round was washed out at 10:00 am. 'Patrons' weren't even allowed to stop in the merchandise tent for souvies, due to lightning, safety concerns - get them off the grounds. At first the announcement was that that was it for those folks. But - so much blowback - we heard that they would be offered first crack at tickets the next year. Lucky us, we were there from 8:00 - 6:00 the next day. Luck of the draw! What year did you attend and how did you get tickets? How far away was your hotel...60-90 minutes away. I've always been unlucky in the annual lotto. That's such a shame when things are washed out....ya I read earlier today on 4gea that tickets were only good for the day of the event. I'm sure TV does Augusta ZERO justice and doesn't capture the elevation changes. Back in 1984...I played with another single...as a kid....he played in a jr. event at Augusta..."sponsored" by Otis Elevator....obviously some big wig from Otis must be a member there One of my best friend's dad ......starting back in the 70's on an annual basis...... flew down with others on a charter plane at 630am from Toronto on Saturday for the Masters...they also flew home that night too....within their package was a $30,000 donation to Augusta....he was a golf nut and his wife a golf widow...lol....yet my friend doesn't play golf. He attended Kris Tschetter's wedding...he and Kris' dad both attended the same ophthalmology school...I think in Detroit? Yes...I'm a Kris fanboy....chatted with her for quite sometime at the 2003 BMO CWO..she was cleaning out her bag and gave me two sleeves of Hogan Apex balls...I still have a sleeve somewhere. Unfortunately, my friend's father passed away from kidney cancer at 56...yikes...I'm 56.

BREAKING NEWS The REAL Dumbo has fallen down some stairs...he might be a N/S tomorrow. As we speak...Billy Payne is reviewing some CCTV tape to see if a flying Samsonite originated from Spieth's dad.

This whole tournament is so people don't focus on the fact that capital gains are taxed at a lower rate than ordinary income while filing in April.

I was in a member- guest tourney one time. They had a scoreboard that listed the names and your club. Mine was the SC Muni. I think all the rest of the players were from country clubs.
Anyway, one player was listed as a member of Augusta. You should have seen all the clowns that sucked up to this guy.

I assume your partner was your brother from Riviera? 2) LMAO.

I ended up getting a putter out of it. The San Clemente Muni is The Pride of the Pacific.

Unfortunately, my friend's father passed away from kidney cancer at 56...yikes...I'm 56. 2014- Friends won the lottery. They called in July, asked what we were doing April 8, and said, "We're all going to the Masters!" We stayed outside of Columbia, about 70 miles away. Whole hotel was full of 'patrons' for various days. As I remember the hotel rates there weren't crazy when we booked in July, unlike anything closer to Augusta. But all the golf courses around Columbia jacked up their greens fees, since most people are only attending one day so plan to play a few rounds in the area. Correct that TV doesn't capture the elevation or contours on the greens, or the unbelievable attention to detail. I've never seen so many attendants (for example, whisking people in and out of the restrooms in a VERY orderly fashion!). First hole we went to several guys were using hand held leaf blowers to clean tiny debis off the fairway. There are many things about the Masters to make you cringe a little, but others are great. Once inside the gates it's very egalitarian: no corporate tents, no special private skyboxes. All 'patrons' have equal access to seating, grandstands. Concessions are extremely cheap and quick, and the merchandise tent is not out of line with any nice clubhouse stuff. Two memories: watching Annie hold court on the patio outside the clubhouse and watching the players skip golf balls off the water onto the 16th green. ⛳😎

1) There are many things about the Masters to make you cringe a little, 1) so please give me 3 examples of what makes you cringe? So how many egg salad and pimento cheese sandwiches did you eat?.....were they good? I assume you spent $1,000 in the merchandise tent for yourself and friends.

Billy Payne's morning address was very good. Classic Gary Player....insecure goof. Supposedly Jack out drove him...and all Player could do was yap....It's a tie, it's a tie.
Taking about Masters goofs....Wiersy.....for those who have watched him play...you know what I'm talking about...he must be worse in the US.

The green jacket ceremony in Butler Cabin 3. Piano music & piped in birds tweeting No pimento, but several egg salad sandwiches-pretty good. Didn't spend $1000 but did our share. Pretty funny at end of day to see everyone with a logo bag full of stuff.

Ya...the patron thing is kinda douchey...lol...in a way the Masters is a clown show that people are willing to pay $3.500 for a Sunday ticket. I have to admit 80% of my rational to attend the Masters is to see Augusta Nat'l. When a tournament is held at a private club I've never been to....just seeing the course is 50% for my attendance.
If I won the tix lotto...I might think of selling the tickets to fund a Bandon Dunes trip....but I can't always attend the Masters and can play Bandon any time I want.
They have an annual Am event open to the public at Pine Valley....I'd drive 4 hrs just to see the course.
I didn't watch much of the Masters today cause our power was out for 4 hrs.

I thought Nicklaus' swing looked better. They need to use the protracer technology along with swing and ball speed graphics.
