I had seen this film heavily promoted at KCON back in June, no surprise given that CJ operates both MNet, the music channel that staged KCON, and the studio that produced this movie. It dramatizes the covert operations in Incheon that preceded the daring UN amphibious landing (the film's English title was taken from the landing's military codename) on the city during the Korean War. In its first weekend in release in Korea at the end of last month it deposed Train to Busan from the top spot in box office earnings, and now it's in its first week in release here in North America. As you can see from the poster they cast Hollywood A-lister Liam Neeson as Douglas MacArthur but of course the movie focuses on the Korean intelligence operatives.
I had a chance to see this movie earlier this week and it is rousing suspense/action thriller. Go see it at a theatre near you while you can.
